Temporary Trip Permit & Fuel Permit

Temporary Delaware Trip Permit is $15 and is valid for 72 hours. Permits can be obtained through a permitting service, who will charge an additional processing fee.

A Hunter Permit is a permit issued to owner-operators to allow the movement of an unloaded vehicle that does not have a current registration. The Hunter Permit may be obtained from the Dover IRP office. This permit will enable the carrier to search for a job either interstate or intrastate, with his/her unloaded commercial vehicle.

A Temporary Fuel permit is issued in lieu of IFTA licensing for travel within Delaware. The fee for a Temporary Delaware Fuel permit is $15 and is valid for 72 hours. Permits can be obtained through a permitting service, who will charge an additional processing fee.
