Delaware's real gross state products in 2012 were estimated at $56,110 which was $131,330 and 70% lower than the national state average, $187,440. Delaware has the 42nd highest GSP of 50 countries.

The City of Wilmington, Delaware is the economic heart of the state. The city is home to the DuPont Company - one of the largest chemical companies in the world, well-known for its products such as Nylon, Teflon, Cellophane, Stainmaster carpets, and Lycra brand spandex.
